Thoughts:
Cool. You know, I didn't realize that God told Abram about the coming oppression and all when he promised descendants that numbered the stars in the sky. But there it is, in verses 13-14.

It's interesting that God would know about bad things in the future of his chosen people and not do anything to stop it. Then again, it's indicative of his apparent preference of staying out of human affairs except when absolutely necessary. He seems to like to have us make all our own choices, even when those choices are completely stupid.

That's even cooler.
